Cheonno's Diamond Sutra
![]()
This is a book in which Chuanlao (Cheonno) of Song China, in 1161, added explanations and verses of praise (song) to the Diamond Sutra. The 'Diamond Sutra'—formally the Vajracchedika Prajnaparamita Sutra—means the teaching of wisdom as indestructible as a diamond. This edition was re-carved and published on the basis of a Song Chinese edition, and its postscript was composed by Yi Saek (1328-1396). It was published in the 13th year of King U of Goryeo, when Yu Gu, Prince Jinwon, and Gang In-bu, Prince Jincheon, petitioned King U's queen for its publication.
