Donguibogam

This medical text was completed by Heo Jun (1539-1615) in 1610 and published in 1613 in 25 volumes and 25 books. It cites nearly all the major medical works of Korea and China available at the time, organizing prescriptions old and new so they could be grasped at a glance. In the preface Heo Jun states that maintaining a clear and tranquil cultivation of body and mind in daily life is more important than treating illness after it arises—a view connected to the steadily accumulated Daoist ideas of nurturing life and their tradition of self-cultivation.
