Flower-shaped Gold Ornament
![]()
These small flower-shaped gold ornaments were excavated from the Tomb of King Muryeong in Gongju; they are 13 pieces out of a total of 510. Found scattered around the king's crown ornament, all of them retain small spangles. Five petals radiate around a central protrusion, and a round spangle is hung from a hole pierced in the center of the disc with twisted gold wire. Analysis shows the gold sheet, spangles, and wire are all of the same material, with a gold content of about 99%.
