Geunjeongjeon Royal Throne

This is a glass-plate photograph (plate no. 90018) of the royal throne area in Geunjeongjeon Hall at Gyeongbokgung Palace. On the platform stand a three-panel screen, the Sun-Moon-and-Five-Peaks screen, and a canopy, yet the king's throne seat itself is absent. It was taken from the southeast looking toward the northwest by Sekino Tadashi during his second survey in 1909, and the sun and moon on the Five-Peaks screen appear to be round metal plates affixed to the surface.
