Pouch-shaped Jar
![]()
This is a pouch-shaped jar made during the Yuan dynasty. Its oval body swells most at the middle, then narrows and passes through a short neck before bending outward to a rounded, rolled rim. Around the neck run twenty-three nipple-shaped motifs applied in white slip, while the outer surface is carved away to form elongated, semicircular concentric-circle designs. The clay is dark brown, heavy, and mixed with sand and other impurities; it was produced at the Qilizhen kiln in Jiangxi Province, China.
