White Porcelain Jar with Iron-Brown Cloud and Bamboo Design

Iron-brown porcelain refers to white porcelain decorated in brownish-black with a pigment whose main component is iron oxide. It began to be made in the 16th century, and production increased markedly in the 17th. In this piece, billowing clouds and limp, drooping bamboo blend naturally on a generous moon jar.
