White Porcelain Moon Jar

It is called a moon jar because its shape is round and full like the moon. The body is not perfectly round but softly and easily curved, and one side settled a little during firing. The diameter of the upright foot is slightly narrower than that of the mouth; it is coated in a clear porcelain glaze almost without bluish tinge, shows large crackle in places, and its surface color is close to milky white. With its clear white hue and generous rounded fullness, it is counted among the finest jars representing the beauty of Joseon white porcelain.
